Paradise Lost

by Heather Brisco

Long ago on this Earth
We beheld the very birth
Of a sea so clear and fresh air
Simple pleasures for which we care
Trees in abundance and food fresh
No diseases to mar the flesh
When tomorrow 1comes the sunset
How will the paradise be let
Or will it only be a thing
That the old is left remembering?
Where is the legacy we lost
What did civilization cost?
